Disable keyguard: In case you only want to use the app's lock screen. (And not return to the default one afterwards.)
Write/delete external storage: For some internal files in \.MortPlayer, e.g. cached folder covers from ID3 tags and track order lists.
Internet: Ads (AdMob)
Boot completed: To reschedule the alarm clock after boot.
Tasks: For "StopService" activity, to avoid the system returns to player afterwards

User reviews of MortPlayer Audio Books
I love the app. It does almost everything I want except when I want to delete an audiobook. In order to delete an audiobook, I have to select and highlight each file (track) in the book and then hit the trash can icon to delete. Maybe I am missing something but there does not seem to be any option to delete a whole album with a single click or no way to do a select all. These would be handy options to have.

Very good app. I used it for 3 months and I am very pleased. But what happened to the pictures in 0.9.7 and 0.9.7a. Only a big ? (questionmark) where it should be. Has worked properly before.

This app does everything I need it to. Great for listening to Audiobooks.

Perhaps I am just stupid but I find the GUI to be cluttered and not intuitive. Worse there's very little support for the player. After many months of trying I have yet been able to scroll a track and the player starts at the beginning every time I start the player.

Great App It's a great app but I'd like to be able to give around $1 to get rid of ads.

Best MP3 Player in the World This app single handedly makes iPhones obsolete. I compare every media player to MortPlayer. I listen to multiple audio books at a time: 1 Alone in the car. 2. With my kids, 3. with my wife. (4. with another kid) (5. A new book I read before I finish an old one) and MortPlayer keeps track of all my positions and makes it a snap to get back to where I was or replay a section if I get distracted. My only complaint is it has issues with some file types that seem to play okay in winamp when I'm testing books before copying to my phone. But seeing as how iPhones have not yet discovered the decade+ old ogg or flac files... I won't hold not understanding some obscure file type against MortPlayer. Best app in the world. Bought the donate app.

Got fed up trying to get app finding files on external SD card I,ve given up trying to get this app to read from my ext SD card. Will delete this app and go to the competitor app which is much easier and does the job that this app can,t seem to do. Isn,t it normal for audio books to be placed in external sd.?
