NavigatorApp

NavigatorApp

Demonstrates the use of the CartoType map developer's API (Application Programming Interface); a reliable and robust API for displaying and manipulating off-line maps. Capabilities also include searching and routing. An example map, (San Jose, California) is provided and a few more can be downloaded once the app is installed. See our website http://www.cartotype.com for more detail.

Please note that this is a demo app chiefly intended for potential developers. The code is kept simple and does not reflect the full user experience of a production app.

The CartoType developer API draws maps, allows searching, calculates routes and does turn-by-turn navigation on iPhone, iPad, Mac OS X, Unix, Linux, Android, Windows desktop (XP, 7, 8), Windows Phone 8, .NET and Symbian. Data can come from almost any source, including OpenStreetMap, Ordnance Survey OpenData, and USGS digital elevation data. We can supply map tiles for the whole world at any zoom level or you can create maps yourself using our tools.

System requirements: A memory card to store the map; GPS device must exist and be enabled at system level.

Application, API and maps are (c) 2014 CartoType Ltd.

Map data is (c) OpenStreetMap http:www.openstreetmap.org/copyright and available under ODbL 1.0. Use of OpenStreetMap data does not imply any OpenStreetMap endorsement of CartoType Ltd. nor of this app.

Bad description No mention that this only covers a part of California. Description indicates that the app integrates with OSM globally. I can't use Santa Cruz maps in Kentucky.. :/
