Nomad Log records the places you visit and how your device connects to the Internet.
Based on these data, we will be able to show you all kinds of exciting visualizations of your geographic and network mobility. Since Nomad Log is part of a research project, using the app also contributes to advance the state of the art in network science.
By installing Nomad Log today, you collect the raw data that will be the source of the visualizations to be introduced in later versions. If you are interested in the raw data, you can export it to your Google Drive account and analyze it yourself.
Your privacy is very important to us. Nomad Log has no access to your communications, your phone number or email address, or any other information stored on your device.
Nomad Log periodically logs the location of your device. Whenever your device connects to the Internet Nomad Log determines the public IP address and the technical properties of the connection. All data is logged completely anonymously and transferred to our secure servers over an encrypted connection. We use these data for no purpose other than scientific research.
This app was developed as part of the Nomad Log project, a research project of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and ETH Zurich.
