(NOW December 2014) Still no map update. The MTA updated the map but the app still hasn't updated to October 2014 issue. The R train is running and this app still shows the old map with the R train out of service. Also suggestion if you can update the icon to give it a more flat metro look to match Android L. (Will stay 2 stars until update)

Great all-around subway app This is probably the best NYC subway app out there. I have some minor quibbles with it, but in general it's very solid, and the advisories/alerts system is very well done. Cheers to the dev for this app. My main suggestions for improvement are: 1. Ditch the iOS-imitation UI, use standard Android design elements. 2. Even on a high-end LG G3, the map takes 5+ seconds to load, and is slow when panning. Improving this would drastically improve the app experience. 3. Either remember the most recently used tab (SUBWAY or MAP), or add an option to select which tab is loaded on start. Most users open the app to view the map, right now there's always an extra tap to get there.
