To connect your vehicle to RemoteLink, make sure you have:
- An active OnStar subscription
- A compatible mobile device
- A compatible vehicle

OnStar RemoteLink offers an innovative way to connect to your vehicle. After downloading and registering the app, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC owners with an eligible 2010 model year or newer vehicle can use their mobile device to access real-time data from their vehicle and perform commands like unlocking doors remotely.

An active OnStar Directions & Connections or Safe & Sound service plan is required to access most features. If you purchased 2014 OnStar equipped vehicle and use RemoteLink just once during your OnStar trial or consecutive subscription, you’ll retain access to the Key Fob Services—Remote Start, Remote Door Lock and Remote Horn and Lights features—for five years from the date of delivery. Key Fob Services do not include any emergency or other OnStar services. Subsequent owners will be able to activate the remaining term by calling OnStar at 1.888.4.ONSTAR.

This application will collect device location and vehicle location and approximate GPS speed each time you use it. You can restrict our access to, or collection of, your device’s location by disabling the location features of your device or by not using the features of the app that require location information. It is not possible to restrict the access to, or collection of, vehicle location information or approximate GPS speed when you are using the app.

If you dispose of, sell, or transfer your vehicle, or your lease ends, you must notify us immediately at 1.888.4.ONSTAR to terminate your OnStar Plan or Remote Key Fob Services for that specific vehicle, and uninstall and cease to use the app.

• Wi-Fi Hotspot control – Allows you to easily manage your vehicle’s built-in Wi-Fi Hotspot, including turning it on and off or creating and editing your hotspot name (SSID) or password. Available in select 2015 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles.
• Vehicle Locate – Access this new service in the Nav tab section of the app. Currently available to Directions & Connections Plan Subscribers in the U.S. only.

User reviews of OnStar RemoteLink
I have never been able for it to find an address. it says the address cannot be found. I can use Google maps and it finds it right away. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone else have this issue.

Works great on my 2001 Buick Regal. I love that they added the Navigation function. Can send a destination right from your phone.

Works great on my 2010 GMC Acadia! Updating data simply requires pressing the name of your car - data isn't updated continually. Ability to start the car anywhere is super - used that feature when hiking through the Nevada desert so the car was cool when we arrived.

I have a 2011 Acadia. When the app works, it works great. The problem is it seems to have lots of glitches such as: not able to connect with OnStar; doesn't update the fuel information, etc. I assume this is because the app is still relatively new. At this point, the app is not dependable and OnStar still has some work to do.
