openBmap.org is a free and open map of wireless communicating objects (e.g. cellular antenna, Wi-Fi hot spots). It provides tools to mutualize data, create and access this map.

This android client will record the position of the cellular towers and Wi-Fi hotspots that are in your range.
These collected raw data will be available in Creative Commons license on the main website.
openBmap.org also makes available processed data: maps, statistics, online and offline API in Creative Commons license.

This client is available in open source GPL v3 at the following address: http://sourceforge.net/projects/myposition/

No US data This app reports 0 cell towers, 0 wifi even as I'm connected to both. No maps in the app at all. Maps on the web site seem to indicate no cell tower data in the US. Huge waste of time.

Why ? I am supposed to help build the db by sending the gps and wifi data but you are asking me to register ? That's not needed. Why create inconvenience for people that help ?!
