Not a bad little app but there are much better ones out there for free. MyTrails free is much quicker at retrieving the OS maps at the Explorer level and has much more functionality

Out of date Needs to use up to date maps. Must be at least 5 to 6 years old.

Useful for OS Maps Good (best) app for showing Ordinance Survey maps. Not the fastest and other features lacking.

Almost perfect Amazing to have these large scale maps for free. (Thanks to last labour gov). Only problem: fails to turn off GPS when in background on my nexus 4 phone.

Scaling problems Works fine as of August 2014, but scaling is poor. I want to see paths for walking, but on zooming in app changes to street map view. Only way is to pinch zoom and hold while you look at map! Used to be OK so I think modern very hi res screens are the problem. Update - now I realise what the padlock Icon is for! Works perfectly!

Fantastic app, OS maps in your pocket. This is a great app for walkers, very clear OS 25,000 and 50,000 scale maps with GPS location. As it downloads maps you need to have looked at the area you are going to walk while you are sure of a data connection, but this is easier than finding the right OS map. The only minor irritation is that the app uses the old way to access settings and modern phones don't have a dedicated key and it took me a while to find out how it was done on my LG G3
