Nice navigation app. The offline navigation isn't very good yet, but i understood they working on it. If you download the maps first, you don't need much internet traffic for navigation. The indexes of streets are much better than navit. On the other hand navit is truely offline and is easy to modify the lay-out.

Reminds me of some WiMo apps I used to use. This is just what I wanted. Thanks! Ability to customize map location would be great for devices that have internal *and* external SD card.

Better than a dedicated gps system. My dedicated gps system use to suggest the weirdest routes that I often didn't take, preferring to make my own way. The few times I've used osmand so far it always routed me the way I would have picked myself. Hope it will always be like this. Great work by the developers.

Unintuitive user interface Great functionality, but not made for normal human beings. The best Android OSM map app I found so far, but absolutely nothing for non-addicted. For the free edition, one more star if each (!!!) map update would not count for the ten free updates available. And even one more star if the user interface was worth its name.

OsmAnd to the Rescue My phone bricked the weekend I had a trip planned so I wasn't able to use Google Maps for directions. Luckily, I was able to use OsmAnd on my Nexus 7 and still find my way around while offline. Super useful.

Bad Google Maps version Maps take long to load and redraw, one glance view of an area is hard to look at, unlike Google Maps where you can easily get an orientation within microseconds. Nice try, but fail.
