Overboard

Overboard

I originally wrote this application to allow me to couple my phone with the P/A speaker on my car so I could easily play sound effects at other drivers who aren't paying attention. It seems to have grown a little bit, and it is now almost a fully featured sound board.

There is a fair bit of vulgar language in this application, so exercise discretion while at work or around small children.

This application is free of any crap; meaning I do not track you or force you to watch advertisements and gobble up your data minutes. I don't believe in that kind of thing, and I find it very annoying when other developers do it.

Until I add a settings menu with an option to toggle it, this application prevents the screen from going to sleep while it is active. I just find it easier this way; if I leave it alone, I don't have to wake my phone up and possibly enter my pass-code just to play a sound. A menu and settings pages are slated for a future release.

All of the sounds have been clipped to a zero-crossing, so there should be no clicks or pops, and none of them should start late or end early. I am very obsessive/compulsive about quality.

The sound for the "Police Horn" button was created by me after tons of careful analysis of recordings of police officers honking their horns. I changed the frequencies ever so slightly so as not to mimic the exact sound of an emergency vehicle (which may or may not be illegal in your locale).

Remember, it is up to you to exercise proper judgement. I shall in no way be held responsible for any trouble you may find yourself in from the use of my application.

This application is still in it's infancy, and I am just taking my first steps into application development for Android devices. That being said, there may be bugs; if you happen to find one, please let me know.

Recent changes:
v1.44: Fixed a bug with the "Police Horn" button (what a buggy button) that kept it from working more than once most of the time.

v1.43: Fixed the bug with the "Police Horn" button that caused the horn to be stuck on if one dragged one's finger off the button while still touching the screen. Also made this button press-able again.

v1.42: Added large "Nuclear Alert Siren" toggle-able button between the insults and the effects.

Good fun! This app has a lot of interesting sounds, most are G-rated I think. Cute and funny. I don't have a PA in my car but I bet you can have fun with this app and one.
