PKI Client is Symantec’s certificate management tool. Use PKI Client to manage the public key infrastructure (PKI) certificates you use to protect the security of your organization’s Internet communications and business transactions.
Your PKI certificate enables you to sign into your company’s VPN securely and use Wi-Fi networks safely.
PKI Client requires Symantec Managed PKI in your organization and Managed PKI Certificate that your enterprise issues you. PKI Client cannot be used as a standalone application.
If you have not yet received a PKI certificate, contact your organization’s administrator to enroll for one.
To use the PKI certificates for VPN access, you will need a Cisco Systems VPN client.
PKI Client has been qualified on the following devices running ICS 4.0. The complete list can be found here
If you have not set a Screen Lock PIN or Swipe Lock swipe, you will need to set this up when you install your Managed PKI certificate.
• PKI Client is not supported on HTC devices.
• You may see minor UI issues if using resolutions below 480 X 800.
• For ActiveSync, your administrator needs to configure your ActiveSync server before you can use this device for authentication.
• Some authentication features depend upon third-party applications. If you can install a Managed PKI certificate and then experience issues with the device, you should verify that any third-party applications are supported by your device and that there are not any known issues for that application.
This version supports Wi-Fi access and VPN access (through the Cisco AnyConnect clients.) Optionally, your organization can provide instructions for configuring your Managed PKI certificates to support Active Sync.
