Rapid Response developed a mobile application called Rapid Accident Response and Rapid Attack Response. The idea is to create an alert key on the application that when pressed, the application will automatically send out relevant information to key people to get quick or rapid response to an accident scene or in case of farm attack or housebreak. To make this app more powerful, Near Field Technology (NFC) technology. A pre-programmed tag(key ring, armband, NFC sticker or tag) that can be placed in the vehicle or in the house, and the phone can be swiped over the tag to send out the same alert automatically. This can be a helpful en highly beneficial feature to gain access to assistance as well. NOTE the phone must have NFC technology for the tag to send out an alert. Rapid Response have an agreement with ER24 nationally to receive all emergency alerts. This contract ensure or guarantee Rapid Response of an ambulance in case of an emergency. An alert is send to both response members (selected family, neighbours and friends) and to the ER24 call centre, this is to ensure rapid response in case of an emergency or an attack. With Rapid Accident and Attack Response, you are linked to family, friends and emergency services in case of an accident or attack or house break.
You are also linked to a dedicated call centre that handle alerts and stay in contact with you and your family.You will pre-programme information into the links. When you download the application, the following options will appear on the screen:
Manage account – contains all your personal information needed to help you if or when in distress.
Response members – contains unlimited contact details of family and friends you want to receive the alert/Insurance details – contains information about your medical aid and short-term insurance if applicable.
Home security system – standard information on your home insurance and roadside assistance suppliers if applicable.
Backup and restore – the application can make a back-up of all your contacts on your phone. You need to choose this option. When phone is stolen or lost, the contact details will automatically be updated on the new device.
The alert can be activated in three ways:
Scan your phone over the Rapid Response tag supplied with your application. (Please note that the phone has to be NFC enabled).
Press your volume button twice up and twice down to choose the relevant application for your situation. This function is handset dependant, may not work on all devices.
Click on the Rapid Response application on your phone and click on “I’m in trouble”
