SDR Touch - Live radio via USB

SDR Touch - Live radio via USB

Turn your mobile phone or tablet into an affordable and portable software defined radio scanner. Listen and record live on air FM stereo radio stations with RDS (radio data text), weather reports, emergency stations, taxi traffic, airplane communications, audio of analogue TV broadcasts, HAM radio amateurs, digital broadcasts and many more! Depending on the hardware used, its radio frequency coverage could span between 50 MHz and 2.2 GHz. It currently demodulates broadcast FM, AM, narrowband FM, upper sideband (USB) and lower sideband (LSB) signals.

You need:

- USB digital TV (DVB-T) dongle with the RTL2832U chip. You may already have one of them laying around. They cost less than $10
- USB OTG (On-The-Go) cable - if you've ever connected a USB thumb drive to your Android device, you already have it. They are extremely cheap

Plug the USB dongle in the charging USB socket of your Android device via the OTG cable and run SDR Touch! It is that simple! Now you can listen to live radio on Android devices that don't have a built-in FM support, without requiring a data plan!

SDR Demo mode is far too short to be of any use to evaluate the app. I certainly wouldn't consider paying this price for something I can't try before I buy. Played with it but couldn't get it to do anything. So, sorry, won't be purchasing this one. 😕

Excellent Great piece of software. It's very fun to explore the airwaves around me wherever I go.

All I heard is hissing... I might have experimented but what is that, like 60 seconds of demo mode? Paying ten bucks is too much for me to experiment so the dongle goes back in the junk drawer till next time and I will delete this app.

Demo, expensive, unresponsive Not at all worth the full price for how clunky and laggy the interface is. Good enough start, but lacking a lot of polish for a 9$ app.

Too Expensive For Me! I was impressed that this app worked first time with my Nexus 5 and no-name dongle. App looks good but demo mode has too few functions and doesn't run long enough for a decent trial. I thought about purchasing a key but when I saw it was $9.99 I had sticker shock and decided this app is too rich for me. I almost gave it 2 stars because of the cost for the upgrade but felt the app was well done (as far as I could tell from the too short demo) so I gave it 3 stars.
