Search the Collections

Search the Collections

Search and browse the Victoria and Albert museum collections.

The V&A have been kind enough to publish all their data about their hundreds of thousands of objects in their museum and archives. This data is all freely available on their website at http://collections.vam.ac.uk/.

This application provides an easy to use mobile interface to the data, letting you easily search and browse the collections for inspiration or research purposes while on the move. Ideal for students of art, artists, or just for an idle browse of our shared collective history and the one million+ images in the collection!

If you use this application please support the V&A and the good work they do by making a donation (use the link in the app!) or by visiting their fantastic shop.

We'll be adding more features to this app in the future, so if you have suggestions please email us using the address below.

This application requires access to the internet in order to communicate with the collections API, and access to your SD card to store images when you click on them so that your favourite image viewing applications can load them up.

If you have any problems with the app please email us, if it crashes please submit a crash report, and don't forget to leave a comment and rating!

Enjoy!

Too limited. Don't bother. The V&A, bless it, is famously poor at explanation and context. This app continues that trend. Lightweight, virtually content-free, and lacking /any/ of the V&A's collection that I tried to look up & learn more about. Hoping the V&A has finally provided for the intellectually curious? Sadly not.
