All about the illustrations The focus is on the illustrations, which are very good, showing multiple plumages from multiple angles with field marks. Name auto-complete is helpful, but some of the naming is outdated and they don't have binomial names. I like the uncluttered interface, but they should find a better way to lay out illustrations to make better use of the screen. Features I miss: 1. filtering by combination of location and time of year. 2. cross-referencing similar appearing/sounding species. 3. eBird & flickr integration

Small images Sibley Birds has worked well for me on two Android phones and on a Nexus 7. But now on my brand new LG G3 phone it apparently misunderstands the screen size, and displays all images at about one third of their proper size. The app is almost useless now. I sent email to the support address about this and received no response so I have to adjust my rating to reflect the absence of support.

Best bird ID guide I use this app basically every day and it has never failed me. But it had one big flaw. The scientific name is not shown for species. Um not sure why this is so in the Android version. In the iPhone version it shows. Please fix this asap!!!

Great for field ornithology course This app may seem expensive, but combines both Sibley guides (east and west) PLUS adds audio files for for identifying the birds by ear--this part being the most useful by far. These features make the price a steal. I used this and the regular Sibley field guide for a field ornithology course, but soon found myself exclusively using the app. Searching birds is made easy and the offline (downloadable) audio files allowed me to listen and compare while in the field, far from any cell service. Recommended!!
