Slick USB 2 Serial Demo

Slick USB 2 Serial Demo

Slick USB 2 Serial Library is a 3rd party software package for Android developers that enables the use of common USB to serial (RS232) adapters with devices running Android 3.1 and above that support USB host mode.

This is an example of an app with the library fully integrated. You can use this app to connect with any Prolific or FTDI based USB to serial cable and test sending and receiving data.

You can easily test this app by hooking up the necessary cables from your USB to serial adapter over to a COM port on your desktop. Then use a hyperterminal, such as Tera Term, to communicate with your Android device.

Just plug in, connect, configure (baud, parity, etc.), and go!

Check out the website for more info about the Slick USB 2 Serial Library.

If you have any questions, issues, or if you'd just like to share the setup you have it working with, please send an email!

Stops USB stick working Had to uninstall as it popped up every time I attempted to plug in a USB stick. How hard is it to spot that a USB stick is not a serial adapter?

Not worth installing Developer unhelpful or not interested - rather look at FTDI solution.

Useless!! Toshiba Excite 10 FTDI 232R Developer is non responsive except for a sale!!! There are some things missing compared to a standard ftdi lib. A buffer layer and some chip readout functions. Fast baudrates are full of bugs and useless
