Slitherlink (free)

Slitherlink (free)

In a Slitherlink puzzle your goal is to form a single loop through the game field using numerical clues.

You can read more about history and rules in Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slitherlink

In addition to classic square grids of different sizes and difficulties this implementation of Slitherlink offers hexagon, pentagon and mixed grids. Try solving those, it may require different ways of thinking than with squares.

Automatic coloring of clues and lines helps thinking, but can be turned off for more classic look and tougher challenge.

This Ad-supported free version is limited to 2400 levels across all difficulties and grid layouts.

It does exactly what it needs to do, plus a bit more. This app is a really good version of the puzzle game. It has the normal modes of hexagons and squares, plus two others called kites and cairo that add a slightly new dimension to the puzzle with differing links per node. It has a good number of screen settings available, and offers puzzles at different ranges of challenge. The ads are small and unobtrusive. The player can undo a long chain of moves, and can also zoom in and out, so screen size is less of an issue.
