Did you know that you can add your own feeds to Social Media Ticker? You’re not limited to the built-in feeds found in the Sources menu.

Using the advanced menu you can add your own, and there are a number of different types supported. When you add multiple feeds, separate each with a comma.

You can add many different RSS feeds using a format such as:

rss://rss.weather.com/weather/rss/local/80112

That one would give you the weather in the 80112 zip code.

Want to add your own text? Here’s an example:

text://Hello World

If you want to include the current time you’d do something like:
text://It’s $time$

Got a favorite traffic cam that you want to see? Here’s one on the continental divide:

http://www.cotrip.org/images/camera?imageURL=60002.jpg

Have some pictures on your Android that weren’t found? Add them by referencing the directory they live in. For example,
/sdcard/mySpecialPics

Along with several others, hopefully fixed the long-standing bug that occasionally caused blank tiles to appear. Added Hacker News source. Better handle changing orientation of screen.

Needs to be a Daydream for Android 4.2+ Not many options concerning how or when the content is dispalyed, but I've given four stars because there is no other app that provides comparable functionality (that I've seen). I would like to use this as a screen saver when docked or when Daydream mode kicks in, but this is not currently supported. I was able to finagle something using Tasker but it is not an ideal solution.

good app, could be greater nice app, could be great with a few more options: * changable background, i.e. instead of just black, how about making it transparent (opacity between 0% and 100%), and being able to pick a bg color or image * the sizes of the tiles are quit large, it would be nice if the user could either pick a font size or a scaling adjustment value (between 0% and 100%).

Interesting ... Its an awesome idea, I would love to see more options. An example would be to make the tiles smaler. They are a bit bbig for my taste... but i cant wait to see where y go with this.
