Speech Assistant AAC

Speech Assistant AAC

Speech Assistant is an AAC app designed for people who are speech impaired, but are able to read. This may be in the case of aphasia, after a stroke, in case of vocal cord problems or other speech problems. The app can also be a tool to practice during rehabilitation.
With the app you can create categories, words and phrases, which are placed on large buttons. With these buttons you can create messages that can be shown or spoken.

Speech language and voice
The voice is not part of the app, but the app uses the voice that’s installed on your device. For instance the voices from Google Text-to-Speech. You can change the voice in the settings of your device. You can also download other voices or speech languages from the Google Play Store from companies like SVOX, Acapela or Ivona.

Excellent Customizable, works with built in speech modules. For me that means I can have the app speak using my voice, that I got synthesized before I started to lose it.

Almost perfect! This is an amazing app. I have raved about it to many friends suffering from the same condition I have, and many have found it helpful. However, the latest update introduced a slight glitch. When I first start up the app, and every time I press the speak button, it pops up a message saying text to voice is not installed on my device, and asking me to go into settings and enable it. I use Ivona, and it is definitely enabled (I'm using the Note 10.1 2014 edition). The app *does* play the spoken audio despite the warning message, so it still works, but the message itself is annoying since it pops up every single time I need the app to speak for me. Fix this and you'll have your fifth star back. Thanks!
