Speech Assistant AAC

Speech Assistant is an AAC app designed for people who are speech impaired, but are able to read. This may be in the case of aphasia, MND/ALS, after a stroke, in case of vocal cord problems or other speech problems. The app can also be a tool to practice during rehabilitation.
With the app you can create categories, words and phrases, which are placed on large buttons. With these buttons you can create messages that can be shown or spoken. It is also possible to type any text using the keyboard.

Speech language and voice
The voice is not part of the app, but the app uses the voice that’s installed on your device. For instance the voices from Google Text-to-Speech. You can change the voice in the settings of your device. You can also download other voices or speech languages from the Google Play Store from companies like SVOX, Acapela or Ivona.

Very useful and customisable Great app for people with speech impairment who manage to tap on a tablet or a larger smarphone. It is simple to enter and modify frequent phrases and sort them into categories. Or you can type ad hoc text on a keyboard. Fully customisable behaviour, colours, sizes. Advanced features like a backup of the predefined phrase, showing a phrase on the full screen or sending it via email. It helps me to keep contacts with other people!

Ok but..... I really like this app. Great for people with a speech impairment. BUT they should have the choice to either have a male or female voice. Hopefully this can happen sooner rather than later. Thanks.
