Spotimote communicates with the Spotimote server component over Wifi. Make sure your phone and your computer are connected on the same wifi network to establish the connection.

After the installation of the Spotimote server component, when you launch it for the first time, you may be prompted by the Windows Firewall. You have to authorize the server component to access the network or it won't be able to communicate with your phone/tablet.

About the permissions, the "READ PHONE STATUS AND IDENTITY" permission is required to let spotimote automatically pause the music when an incoming call is received on the phone.

User reviews of Spotimote free for Spotify
Low-quality UI and invisible text on ICS (same as BG colour) when searching for tracks.

Queue not working with new Spotify w/ Radio (v 0.6.1.287.g64b130c8). Automation from phone brings desktop player to Radio rather than Play Queue.

I mostly play music from the Starred playlist and it would be awesome if the remote could list that playlist too. The API should most likely expose that playlist. Otherwise i love the app :) work great so far on HTC Desire.

Very nice, works perfectly and gives much more control capability than Unified Remote (free version). Minor suggestion, on my screen longish artist + song names get cut off on the top line. Maybe allow selection of a smaller font, or choice of song name before artist name.

This is just too cool. I love the remote feature. I'm a premium member but there really isn't much difference. I just want to be legal and all that bullSh!t. The app works great!!! You will be surprised at how well and how much fun it is to play with. I love gadgets. I'm using a S3 Jelly Bean os. I know lots of people have better and more new phones but any droid is going to run this app.

Potential to be Better I like this app a lot more than the alternatives, but I'm hesitant to buy the full version without a few additional features. I'm hoping for you to add some way to browse Spotify's categories of playlists. I'd also like to see the ability to browse our already created radio stations, along with the ability to vote on the tracks that are played. Additionally the UI could use a bit of improvement. Overall I think the app is good, but could be great.
