Sun Seeker

Sun Seeker

Sun Seeker provides a FLAT VIEW COMPASS and an AUGMENTED REALITY CAMERA 3-D VIEW showing the solar path, its hour intervals, its winter and summer solstice paths, rise and set times and more and a MAP VIEW showing solar direction for each daylight hour.

Just like the highly acclaimed iOS version of Sun Seeker!

Ideal for
* Real Estate Buyers - for finding the sun exposure of properties you are considering
* Gardeners - for finding optimal planting locations for current and seasonal solar exposure
* Photographers - for planning optimal light conditions
* Architects - for getting a feel for the spatial variability of the solar angle throughout the year
* Campers - to find shadowed areas, even when sun is hidden by clouds or walls

Main Features
* Uses GPS, magnetometer, accelerometers and gyroscope to find the correct solar position and path for your current location and device orientation
* Flat compass view showing current solar position, diurnal solar angle and elevation (separated into day & night segments), shadow length ratio, atmospheric path thickness
* 3D augmented reality camera overlay view showing the sun's current position, its path with hour points marked
* Camera view also has an optional pointer to guide you towards the current location of the sun
* Map view showing solar direction arrows for each hour of the day with scrollable date/time.
* Ability to choose any date and view solar path for that day
* Ability to choose any location on earth
* Additional details including rise, set and culmination times, maximum elevation
* User option to include summer and winter solstice paths on both flat compass view and camera view

Notes
* The compass accuracy depends on having an undistorted magnetic field around your device. If you use it close to metallic objects or electrical equipment, directional accuracy may be impaired.

Recent changes:
v4.2
* Many interface enhancements for a better experience on Android
* Data from tables may now be shared in csv format
* Fixes for several device-specific problems

v4.1
* Major upgrade to map view - search for and save locations, scroll through date and time

3D mode stopped working after the last update, clicking on 3D button and nothing happens, Nexus 5 here. Yes, it works better in iOS, but I've been using this app there for a long time and it wasn't perfect right away. I believe that they'll make it work great on android as well.

I should have read the reviews before I bought it... As others said, it works great in iOS... Terrible on android.... I gave it a 5 star in iTunes...

Crap App I also think its a waste of money. Trying to use it on my Samsung S4 the arrow never points directly at the sun and the whole app shakes like I've got alzhiemers or something worse. A refund would be good unless it can be improved dramatically

Believe the 1 star reviews... Also migrated from iPhone, sun position is always wrong on android. I'm on a Galaxy S4. Awful steal of 6 dollars.

Great on iphone, bad on Android With so many people migrating from iPhones to Android phones, like myself, apps that run on both systems need to be of the same quality and functionality. The time is always off on this app, it always thinks it's 11pm.
