User reviews of SyncMate for Android
I really thought (hoped) this was going to be a productive and useful app, so much so that I foolishly purchased the Expert product key and the lifetime upgrade guarantee. Duplicate, duplicate duplicate..... you get the point, contacts and calendar nightmare. IPhoto and ITunes did not sync and contacting the company for assistance to get the right configuration(s), the first response was acknowledgment of syncing problems and a cut and paste of a FAQ, after that, no further responses. My actions for their lack of assistance and poor customer service; file credit card dispute forms w/my Credit Card Company, complete removal from my IMac and my HTC Thunderbolt and this somewhat in-depth review to warn folks to look elsewhere as I will be doing.... any suggestions?

Don't buy Syncmate, it isn't fit for purpose Eltima's website (they developed Syncmate) suggests that this pile of rubbish should work out of the box. It doesn't. I run a software development business, so I am tech savvy, but I gave up trying to use this when I ended up with two identical sets of Contacts in iCloud. I requested a refund from them, but was referred to their refunds policy. They did say they would try and help me "sort out my problems with sync-ing", but I am afraid I declined their offer ... an App should work without someone having to "sort things out for you". I switched to SmoothSync apps and it all went swimmingly well. So I've wasted $38.35. Hopefully, writing this review will stop other people wasting their money, and cost Eltima more than the amount I've wasted. BTW, this is the first App review I have ever written, because I'm so angry with Eltima. It deserves no stars.

I really wanted to like this, but... I currently use SyncMate Expert to sync contacts between my MBA and my Google account. I was hoping that if I purchased the Pro version I would get support if needed (not true). This sync software is incredibly slow and unreliable. Many duplicates are created and it often doesn't finish. I have tried WiFi, Bluetooth and am now using the USB 3.0 port, which is supposed to be the fastest. The sync is running right now- It has been "syncing" for an hour and 20 minutes for just 1561 contacts! And it appears to have stopped at "added 1551 of 1561 contacts..." I have used various sync products for years and this is by far the worst! And forget customer support. There is an option to send the log file to technical support and I have done that several times with no response. I will be looking for another solution. I don't know about their other products, but Eltima should stop selling this until it works reliably.

SyncMate Eltima... remember this software developer. They take your money and offer very little in terms of support for their extremely buggy product. I started off with SyncMate 4, which was bad enough, SyncMate 5 doesn't do much to improve an already shoddy user experience. from not syncing contacts/calendars to a poorly implemented method to add photos and music. Seriously, for $50, i expect way more than this grade D software written by seemingly amateurs trying to squeeze a few dollars from unsuspecting users. in short, Android and OSX do not sync well, for obvious reasons. If you want to sync with OSX, get yourself an iPhone. Android is develop with the intention of cloud sync. SyncMate is definitely not worth the $50 price tag. Save your money, unless you hate your money. I also just can't rate this application more than 1 star, that's all it's worth.

An immature product that will lose your data My primary goal was synchronizing my calendars, contacts, and to-do list. Alas, the Android platform has no concept of "to dos" so I'll need to stick with MissingSync to do that. For a while, the calendars and contacts synchronized quickly and through WiFi without much trouble. But then it started to fail to finish synchronizing. By my best guess, above 10,000 events or so and it chokes—this on a device with over 64,000,000,000 bytes of storage space, enough for HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of events. I reverted it to only synchronize a few months ahead and back, but now there is no way for me to restore a backup of my calendar. I'm sure the same problem creeps up with contacts. Worse, though, the folder sync is a mess. The options for controlling it are global when they should be local (filtering) and it is becoming next-to-impossible to support sync with the huge external SD I have. It often will decide do delete all my files on my desktop, or spend hours trying to copy them one-by-one through the WiFi link (which, on my system, tops out around 150 kb/second.) This is fine for grocery lists, but for my entire music collection or OpenStreetMaps data, it's intolerable.
