TOI:Fallen Knight

'The Closest Thing to Pen and Paper on Mobile' - hardcoredroid

You are Lord Elric, a disgraced noble framed for the murder of his family in the world of Illyria. Hunted by assassins at every turn, Elric must gather his allies, manage a party of warriors and anti-heroes, and bring down an empire to either claim his revenge...or earn redemption.

Tales of Illyria is an RPG hybrid mixing Oregon Trail and Choose-Your-Own-Adventure game mechanics. Each party member has a distinct personality and reacts differently to being sick, running out of supplies, and decisions that go against their alignment.

Will you feed the hungry troll, or chase it off? Will you rob a caravan to gain precious gold? How will you save a man infected by the Black Death?

Tales of Illyria: Fallen Knight is the first episode in the series. Each episode is a standalone RPG.

---~~~* A Mataeus Review *~~~--- I love games that make you feel like you're on a real journey; that make the miles you travel feel like a proper epic travelling distance. Half Life 2 did it, Final Fantasy X did it, and ToI does it too. Although the travelling can be quite mundane - tapping on flora and fauna - and the way the game is programmed (layering image files) makes it unnecessarily large and slow, it's still addictive and entertaining. It has a certain feeling of dispair about it, and I like that.

Generally Excellent One of the best android RPGs available. Beautiful artwork, an engaging narrative and compelling Oregon Trail meets The Spirit Engine gameplay. Clearly a labour of love, with a talented, engaged dev team who directly respond to feedback. Brilliant overall!

Addictive but has serious flaws The enemy usually dodges attacks; their weapons are weak but the troops you command nearly always miss so you lose! Most battles leave you decimated. I have two magical weapons bought from a special event that were very expensive, if I hadn't had money at the time I'd still have normal ones that at this stage would be useless. Magic always hits, that's unfair. Stun keeps you down for the count. The difficulty needs work! Would also like the screen to auto-rotate. And why do I keep getting screenshot emails?

Solid game, but don't expect an easy ride! Great little game to sink some hours into. Although after a while the random events that are triggered can be harshly unfair as you watch your party get destroyed by a full pack of werewolves (6) and you have no means to avoid it. The game more or less throws it at you with a pull down eyelid and stick tongue out response. Also they have the capability to just one shot you. You will just find yourself having a "screw you" attitude and just reloading the game when something unfair happens to your party.

Fun but needs work. Needs a mode where there is no story, you can make a party, and adventure across the whole world.
