Tappir - TV Listings Guide

Please visit the developer web page to read responses to reviews! Follow your favorite TV shows with Tappir. Choose from over 28,000 shows and view episode listings either in a weekly schedule or by individual seasons on a per-show basis. Air times and dates are converted to your local time zone (change in settings), which is perfect for the cultured connoisseur of multi-national television programming. Tappir keeps tracks of which shows you've watched, and allows you to mark episodes as liked/disliked (anonymously viewable by other Tappir users).

Twitter integration allows you to share with others that you added or removed a show, and watched, like or disliked an episode.

In addition to being able to search for TV shows to add, you can view the top shows in categories such as most followed by the community, most liked by the community, popular this week within the community, new series and returning series.

Thumbnails are available for most shows, and even many episodes, providing a rich media experience. The show selection list provides a great overview of the shows you're following, with progress bars indicating what percentage of a shows' episodes you've watched, and also a helpful indication of the number of future episodes scheduled to air.

The power user is taken care of with the generous availability of context menus, allowing you to mark not just individual episodes, but entire shows, seasons, weeks and days as watched (and rate them too) with just one touch.

The user interface is very fast and easy to use, designed so no feature is more than three touches away. You will instantly feel at home with Tappir, like it is an old, familiar friend and you both completely understand each other.

The color scheme is light and spacious, putting you at ease as focus is drawn to the content you're looking for.

Episodes not yet watched are highlighted in a distinctive shade of blue, allowing you to spot them with minimum effort.

The best feature of Tappir, which our uninvested competition dare not rival is our ubiquitous availability. We're not in it for the short-term, which is why you'll find your Tappir account not only works with this app, but also with our web application at www.tappir.com. There you will find that all of your favorite TV shows are just as you left them after using this app (and vice versa).

This app is not a second-class citizen to the web application. Everything you can do with the web application, you can do with this app!

Not what I wanted Was looking for app that would tell me what's on tv at any given time. From what I could see, this doesn't do that. Looks like you have to enter individual shows and app will tell you when they're on. Maybe useful for some people, but not for me. Uninstalling.

Fantastic Essential for all TV addicts. Edit: As of April 2013 the app unfortunately seems to be no longer supported. There always were occasional downtimes, but I haven't been able to reach the server for weeks now. No updates from the developer on Twitter since February. I hope they're okay, but I don't think the service is coming back.
