Free. Send & Receive Text Messages from your Computer, sync'd with your Android phone!

With MightyText Android™ App & Chrome Extension, you can:

1) Send SMS text messages from your computer
2) Receive SMS text messages immediately as they come in on your Android device
3) Sync all SMS text messages from your Android device to your computer

All without needing a separate phone #.

You can send/receive texts on your Android device as you normally would.

*NOTE* - MightyText sends and receives SMS text messages through your Android - your carrier WILL charge you as if you sent the SMS's yourself from your phone.

This is different from Google Voice because Google Voice requires you to set up a new phone #

Requirements:

- Android Phone running v 2.2+ with a working and reliable data connection
- Working data or wi-fi connection
- Background Data must be enabled on your phone

Installation Steps:

1. Install MightyText Android App

2. Configure MightyText Android App: After the app downloads to your Android, you must choose which Google account to link with.

*IMPORTANT*: Please make sure that you use the same Google account as the one you will use to login to MightyText Chrome extension.

3. Install MightyText Chrome Extension on your computer:

4. Launch MightyText Chrome Extension: Login securely using the same Google Account you set up in step 3 above

5. Start Texting from computer and receiving texts on your computer.

Install the MightyText Chrome Extension only AFTER successfully installing the Android App.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

(1) Not receiving texts on the chrome extension? -- if you have GOSMSPro installed on your Android phone - please see http://mightytext.net/go-sms-issue

(2) Make sure you have latest version of the Android app (check Android market) & Chrome extension.


If you are experiencing an error with pushing messages to the phone - please note that we use the same technology as the popular Chrome to Phone application. If Chrome2Phone does not work for you because of a network setup issue on your phone, then it is possible that MightyText won't work. Please email us if any questions on this.

We've tested MightyText in conjuction with the following apps installed, on Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich: Viber, DeskSMS, Kik Messenger, kakaotalk, Kakao Talk, Life360.


We have lots of feedback from our users that the app seems to be most compatible when using the standard Text Messaging app, or Handcent SMS. We have had some users report issues with GoSMS and GoSMSPro.

Think of this application as a text messenger or text messaging app on your computer. No more typing on a small keyboard when texting.

Please note: MightyText is different from apps such as: Skype, Whatsapp, Ebuddy, Beluga, Facebook Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Kik Messenger - because MightyText syncs with your SMS & Text Messaging app from your phone! (keep texting as your normally would!)

We are also different from Google Voice because you can text message using your same phone # (very common question)

Note: One use of Google Voice that we do *not* provide is the ability to text using a different phone number.
