See the hidden colors of the night sky with this app by astronomer Joshua Peek and Xperia Studio. For the first time, you can look through your phone and view the heavens in all their multi-hued glory: X-ray, ultraviolet, infrared wavelengths, and more.

Over the last decades astronomers have peered past the starlight and recorded a cacophony of beautiful structures filling our Galaxy. Some are the remains of the explosive deaths of stars. Some are the building blocks of planets. Some feed the massive black hole at our Galaxy's center. Many are still a complete mystery. The Invisible Universe app is loaded with full-sky images of the galaxy few ever see, and uses your GPS position and device orientation to reveal the invisible wherever you look.

Recent changes:
1.1.0 Updated wavelengths to work on Droid X and other phones that could not see any wavelengths except Infrared.

Very cool app, with two big problems -- (1) no app2sd support, and an app this big needs that, and (2) currently only 1 of the 5 wavelength options works. Add the first and fix the second, and this would be a great app.

Good effort It does exactly what they say it does. The commenters who thinks its supposed to turn your camera into a magical astronomy gadget are all retards. Five stars.

Nice app, Has potential I found this app because I wanted to make something exactly like it. I love being able to see what the night sky would look like in different wavelengths of light that I cant normally see. I have a few suggestions, however. 1. Because of my older phone (not because of the app) the screen doesnt always line up with where I point it (i.e. aiming south but seeing the west sky) so it would be nice if I had the option of just dragging the screen with my finger. This would also allow exploration of the sky without having to point it at the sky. 2. Even when I'm aiming it at the sky, its hard to tell exactly what features on the screen correspond with where I'm looking in the actual sky. Adding the option to overlay bright stars (and maybe prominent constellations) would help better connect the sky with my screen. 3. There is educational value in this app in that it explains what is responsible for emitting at the different wavelengths. But if I want to know more about a specific bright patch of emission in an image, it would be nice to click on it and maybe open a popup window which describes that patch in more detail. Thanks! I really hope you continue working on this app!
