The Phillips Collection

The Phillips Collection

Encounter superb works of art in an intimate setting at The Phillips Collection, one of the world’s most distinguished museums of modern and contemporary art. Located in Washington's vibrant Dupont Circle neighborhood, the Phillips opened to the public in 1921 as America's first museum of modern art.

Paintings by Renoir and Rothko, Bonnard and O'Keeffe, van Gogh and Diebenkorn are among the many stunning impressionist and modern works that fill the museum's distinctive building, which combines extensive new galleries with the family home of its founder, Duncan Phillips. The collection continues to develop with selective new acquisitions, many by contemporary artists, and the Intersections series features projects by contemporary artists, responding to art and spaces in the museum.

The Phillips Collection app lets you explore this exceptional collection of modern and contemporary art through audio tours and multimedia presentations. Visitor information, a calendar of events, and maps of the museum help you to plan your visit, navigate the collection, and learn more about the art you discover.

Any help to appreciate art is welcome I wish there was a language translation aspect - especially for as global a city as dc can be.

App may be ok onsite, ... ... but it's irritating if you want to see the art while you're somewhere else. Thumbnails are miniscule and can't be resized; one unexplained icon gives you an empty screen; no Help or Contact; etc. Dumb and yet stingy. Reflects badly on the museum's Board and staff.
