Firstly, as this is a beta test, not everything is fully complete. We are working to add more data streams, and generally improve the overall app experience.

Permissions: We ask for certain permissions for this app for the following reasons.

Your location: To show you local weather and tweets. Not used for advertising (we don’t have any) or any other nefarious purpose.

Read your contacts: To find your friends on Tricl. Your contacts are securely transmitted to our servers and hashed before they leave your phone.

Phone calls: A bit poorly named, but basically needed to identify the device for personalization purposes. We don't make any calls on your behalf or access any phone call functionality.

Network communication: To retrieve data from the web (obvious, I guess)

System tools: Tricl is able to render transparently over the homescreen of your phone, and we need this permission to do that.
