TRPG Tester


This is an app made to test the features of the Tactical RPG I am working on. It is not a full game. It is just an environment for testing the combat, AI, balancing, etc. of the game with the eventual goal of making good gameplay and a final game lots of people will be able to enjoy.

Please email me if you find any errors or if you have comments on it. Especially if characters are unbalanced.

Instructions on how to use the test environment: {

To place characters press the add button. A dialog will open allowing you to place a new character and then you can choose where to place it by touching the screen. (You will want to move the screen to the correct place before you add the character as you will not be able to move the screen when adding.) Add as many characters as you want as either playable characters, allies, enemies, or members of a third party. Then play.

Things I am already thinking about: {

Should I make a game turn be movement and then attack instead of giving the option to do them in any order? This would simplify the button needs.

Recent changes:
Tier 2 classes for all characters added

Tier 1 classes for several characters changed

Enemy grunt units added

Healers can now heal

Archers can no longer fire through trees

Various AI choices now added for nonplayable characters

HP calculation formula changed to be more dependent on character stats than level

archers can now run out of arrows

Game no longer crashes after an AI turn if one of the AI units has perished

Healing AI should now work
