gStrings (www.cohortor.org/gstrings) is a chromatic tuner application measuring sound pitch and intensity.

It will let you tune any musical instrument (violin, viola, violoncello, bass, guitar, piano, wind instruments).

Features include:
1. orchestra tuning (shifting/redefining tone frequencies),
2. different temperaments (just, pythagorean, meantone, comma, etc.),
3. a variable range nonlinear scale,
4. microphone sensitivity setup,

Can't believe how nice a tuner you can get for an Android device. I can't remember why I bought it (maybe to get rid of ads?) but I liked it enough to buy it. It's a bargain at one dollar and change. I never 'plug' into a tuner so this is now my go to tuner for everything. Way more features than a physical tuner from the guitar store.

This is how I tune my tricone resonator. It works, and it works well. I don't ever see uninstalling this app.
