Recent research suggests that exposure to blue light before sleep may distort your natural (circadian) rhythm and cause inability to fall asleep.

The cause is the photoreceptor in your eyes, called Melanopsin. This receptor is sensitive to a narrow band of blue light in the 460-480nm range which may suppress Melatonin production - a hormone responsible for your healthy sleep-wake cycles.

In experimental scientific studies it has been shown an average person reading on a tablet or smart phone for a couple of hours before bed time may find their sleep delayed by about an hour.

The Twilight app makes your device screen adapt to the time of the day. It filters the blue spectrum on your phone or tablet after sunset and protects your eyes with a soft and pleasant red filter. The filter intensity is smoothly adjusted to the sun cycle based on your local sunset and sunrise times.

Fails to activate. This app is precisely what I was looking for however it fails to activate itself during the set hours no matter what settings I use. I also have paid for the full version and still it fails. GALAXY S5

Support devs for making a great app Installed Twilight and noticed changes right away- it's easier to fall asleep at night after using my device in bed, my eyes don't feel as strained and I'm getting more/better sleep. I also think my screen looks cool with red tint 😀

Good night sleep app This app does what I need for it to do. Ibbalways on my phone and at night looking at the blue light on the screen makes it hard for me to fall asleep. The app changes the screen color and intensity. This really help my eyes from getting strained.

Buggy and battery hog on Nexus 6 Really slows the camera shutter speed on the Nexus 6 and uses lots of battery. When installed battery lasted 9am to 4pm. Once uninstalled battery lasts to 9pm.

Needs profile change scheduler App is awesome, does exactly what it claims to do. However, I wish that I could set a time of day for my bed-reading profile to become enabled, so that I don't have to open up the app and change the profile every night and change back every morning when I want to do some reading in bed. Add that and I'll 5 star
