Concerned that your partner is checking your text messages or emails? Wondering if your device is being used by someone while it is left unattended? Worry no more with this application.
UnlockSnap takes a photo with your device's front-facing camera each time the device is unlocked. It allows you to see exactly who has been using your device in your absence. The application keeps the images hidden from the Android Media Scanner ensuring that none of them are visible in the Gallery application. You can temporarily disable photo taking and view the photos. In the full version you can also select the photo resolution, set the number of photos to keep and whether they are stored on external storage or on the device itself. UnlockSnap does not need a constantly running service so it does not significantly impact your device's battery life or performance; when Android tells it that the device has been unlocked it takes a photo and goes away.
Please note that some android devices do not allow pictures to be taken without showing a preview image. If that is the case then no images will be taken. If this happens it would be great if you could email the contact address telling us the device so we can confirm with you that this is the case and mark the device as unsupported.
This is a feature limited ad supported trial version. The full version, available from the Play store, has no adverts and does not require any internet related permissions.
N.B. UnlockSnap requires that your device has a front-facing camera to function.
* Permissions Used
android.permission.CAMERA - This is so that the application can use the camera.
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - This is so that the photos can, optionally, be saved to a storage card.
android.permission.INTERNET - This is used by the Google AdMob Library for the advert on the settings screens.
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - This is used by the Google AdMob Library for the advert on the settings screens.
* Bug Reporting
There is a bug reporting form built in to the application that is accessed via the menu on the settings screen. Please try to describe as best you can, and in as much detail as you can, the problem and what you were doing at the time it occurred. The bug reporting form uses an email client of the user's choosing to send the problem description and the application's internal log. No personal data is sent and the full email can be reviewed before it is sent. If your problem prevents you from accessing the bug reporting form then please report the issue via email or using a 'Report' button if one is displayed.
