XMMS2 Playground

XMMS2 Playground

A controller interface for XMMS2 music player service.

XMMS2 service is required to play music on the device itself but this application can also be used to remote control another XMMS2 instance elsewhere on the network. The remote XMMS2 instance must be compiled from latest development git tree, stable will not work until the next official release.

This application is my playground for the Java client library for XMMS2 which will be available to the public sometime soon.

It is still under heavy development and nothing you see in the application right now is set in stone.

Can be used on a tablet but doesn't really look like a tablet application yet.

INTERNET permission is used to talk with the remote XMMS2 instance(s) only. Currently there's no confirmation required to make the connections, it will come in the future, so if your data usage is limited, try to avoid using this feature without WiFi.

Works well Doesn't automatically jump to the current song in the playlist view, but otherwise works well.

Solid foundation. Working well so far. Still a few things missing (like adding urls for internet radio) but I'm sure this will all be added in time :)

Audiophiles choice on Android. Period! Thanks to the awesome built in equilizer which can be changed and enabled in xmms2.conf this gives the most cleanest, crisp and least distorted sound you will ever find on Android. Hikiplayer pro gives the best equilizer graphs to find your optimal values then just plug them into the xmms2.conf file. Top marks to the devs porting this. XMMS2 just kicks ear drums.
