The MyObservatory mobile app was developed by the Observatory to enable members of the public access to the latest weather information anytime and anywhere. The app provides personalized weather services, thereby allowing users to obtain the latest weather information specific to their locations. The app also comes along with a suit of services from the Observatory such as 7-day forecast, forecast track for tropical cyclones, world major city forecasts, imageries for radar, satellite, lightning locations, etc. By activating weather warning notification service, alert messages would be delivered to user’s smartphone automatically whenever there is any change in weather warning signals. The "Location-based Rain Forecast" service was recently introduced, through which users could easily get hold of the rainfall forecast in the coming two hours specific to their actual or selected location.

Please note that:

1. Although “MyObservatory” is a free application, user will be charged by their mobile network service provider on the user of data service. These charges can become very expensive on roaming. Please ensure that the option of “Data Roaming” have been disabled in the Settings of your Android.

2. The estimated location provided by the mobile device may be deviated from your actual location. Meanwhile, owing to the dissimilarity in altitude and topography between your location and the reporting weather station, weather information displayed may be different from the actual conditions.

3. Use of location-based rain forecast notification will increase the battery usage and data download.

- App2SD?
Will not have app2SD as if enabled, widgets and notification will fail. This is Android's design.

- Background color?
can be set in settings, you can see the samples in the screenshot session

- different screen size?
I will try my best to add different screen size support, as there are too many.

- Widgets fail to auto update?
Try to go into that widget's setting and press back

re-add the widget

- Location not accurate?
the location is the closest HKO station, may not be the district name that you are currently in

如果在你身處的地方(香港地區only)在1~2小時內有可能會下雨的話,會發出notification.

* 請先啓動手機定位 *
系統設定 > 位置與安全性 >我的位置 > 使用無線網路

* 假如有用 Task Killer 之類的 app, 請將 HKRainDroid 從 task killer 剔除.

* This app is for HK only
- 約每~30min從天文台下載數據, 請注意手機數據用量
- 已獲香港天文台授權使用有關數據
- 本程式只作參考, 可能唔準.. :o)
* 有時可能會因天文台數據問題而未能更新

- 預測不準確不要怪我, 我只是轉載天文台數據, 況且就算連天文台本身掌握大量數據也不可能百分百準確預測.

看到很多一句唔work ... 如何唔 work, 請給多些資料
- 完全打不開 ?
- 有否打開 "網路定位" ?
- 資料沒有更新 ? Service started ? 打開圖表, 如果可以下載但資料時間沒有更新, 那便是天文台 server 出了問題沒有更新.
- About 下面那行細字有否更新 ..?
- 不能下載顯示圖表 ?
- 明明被雨淋緊都沒有提示 ? 請 check 一下圖表人仔所在位置是否預測有雨, 如果天文台都沒有預測到, 程式也不可能有提示. 或許試用其他民間智慧作預測吧, 但不包括在本程式內.
- 無端端出了提示但等了一整天竟然一滴雨都無 ? 再 check 一下圖表是否真的有預測吧. 代hko說句, 預測始終是預測, 當參考吧. 如果不準我也沒辦法.

It is the LiveWallpaper design in conjunction with changes in weather forecast.
Please turn ON GPS or a WiFi function.
The following contents change based on the present position information.

At the time of first time starting of application, loading takes several seconds for location information acquisition.

if recent location information is not left in the device,
this live WallPaper acquire the location information now from GPS or WiFi.

Or,if you use GPS, please try outdoors.

Super stylish weather clock widget!

You can check weekly forecasts, 3hr forecasts, current conditions, time and date all over the world.
Supports the current weather and the rain fall probability in the status bar.
Bonus points: you can check the rain radar, satellite view and map for your location.
