Biblical Hebrew Vocabulary

The Biblical Hebrew Vocabulary App is designed to help students study and review the 600 most frequent words in the Hebrew Bible. The top 600 words are divided into sets of 25 which can be mixed and matched to create a single list. Once a list is created, students click through the words individually, reveal the English translation, and move to the next word. If they incorrectly identify the Hebrew word, students can choose to send the word to a sub-list for further review.

In addition to the top 600 words in the Hebrew Bible, lesson lists are available that correspond with Thomas O. Lambdin's Introduction to Biblical Hebrew textbook.

The Biblical Hebrew Vocabulary app was designed by Geri Clements, a Biblical Hebrew Instructor at Brigham Young University and a M.S. student in Instructional Psychology & Technology, as a way for her students to always have their vocabulary lists with them no matter where they go. Waiting in lines and waiting for friends can now be leveraged into Biblical Hebrew study time! Just think of the possibilities...

Välkommen till Lampguiden

Lampguiden är appen som kan hjälpa dig att hitta rätt typ av belysning samtidigt som du kan spara både pengar och miljö. Belysning brukar stå för ungefär en femtedel av ett hushålls elanvändning. Ersätter du dina glödlampor med ny energieffektiv belysning kan du göra skillnad.

Lampguiden har fyra ingångar:

1. Hitta lampan
Nu när den gamla glödlampan fasas ut kanske du också är en av dem som undrar vilken ny lampa du ska välja. Med Lampguiden kan det bli enklare att välja rätt bland av de energieffektiva belysningsalternativ som finns.

1. Leta efter lampan som du ska ersätta
2. Ställ in önskad effekt i watt (W)
3. Resultatet presenteras i ljusflöde, lumen (lm) och listar möjliga ersättningslampor

a41cv is my open source simulator of the legendary HP41CV RPN calculator. The first production version of a41cv was released in February 2011. Nearly all of the original HP41CV functions are implemented.
The calculator differs from the HP41CV in the following ways:
No definition of number of register
Programmes cannot be assigned to keys (working on that)
Not all special flags implemented
Number of programme lines only limited by phone memory
Only a simple programme editor (by now) but full import / export of programmes on cvs format
Still trying to make a41CV fit better on the now more than 1782 different devices it works on according to Google Market

Recent changes:
Not much news in version 1.5.
Some bugs have been solved and the old layout removed as it was too dependent on screen size. This reduced the size of the app to a 1/4 of last version.
Bug fixes:
Problem with rounding in INT function solved
Problem with stack lost when the user switch to other apps solved

Morse Player Free

Morse Player will convert text into Morse code (CW) sounds. It has two modes, real time and text file encoding. In real time mode, characters entered from the keyboard will be played as they are typed. In file mode, a file can be loaded and played back as CW. Using Morse Player is a good way to go from knowing the Morse code characters to hearing words. It is not designed to specifically be a trainer, but training files could be generated and used to learn the characters. For example, I’ve created files with ham radio call signs to help in call sign recognition for CW amateur radio contesting. Also, using the real time mode and typing the characters is a good way to learn their sounds. Free public domain books from http://www.gutenberg.org can be downloaded and played as Morse code in Morse Player. Listening to these books in Morse code is a good way to improve conversational CW copying skills. The only file format supported is UTF-8.

This is my first release to the Android market and I’m sure there are going to be issues with some of the platforms. Please contact me directly through email with bugs/issues and suggestions. I will gladly work with you to resolve the issues.

Version 1.0.9 added the Save Text feature. This feature will save the first 1K bytes in the edit buffer to new memory location. The first five memories will be added to the 'Save Text' menu for quick recall and play. The 'Manage' menu selection will navigate to the Save Text activity without adding a memory location.

Version 1.0.11 added the ringtone feature. You can save any of the saved Morse code phrases as a ringtone by long pressing the saved item and choosing generate ringtone from the menu. This will ask for the name of the ring tone. This is the name that will identify the ring tone to the system. After choosing a name, the file will be encoded to the Ogg Vorbis format and will be added to the ringtone, notification and alarms databases. They will be accessible to use from the Android sound settings. When you delete a phrase the ringtone will be deleted along with it.

This app only generates the ringtones. You must go to the android sound settings to use it as a ringtone.

The ogg-vorbis code runs in the native layer and is processor specific. It was done this way because it encodes much faster. It was first tried as pure Java and it was painfully slow. The drawback is that it may not run on some platforms. It has only been tested on AMR processor platforms.

If the app crashes while encoding, please forward me the information and I will try to resolve it rather than writing a bad review.

With version 1.0.4, the READ_PHONE_STATE privilege is required. This will only be used to detect if a call is answered, so that the Morse code that is playing can be stopped.

Version 1.0.9 added the ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION privilege requirement. This is only used to help tailor ads that are location specific.

Version 1.0.11 added the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE privilege requirement. This is so ring tone files created with Morse Player can be created and deleted in external storage.

This is the free version and using it is a good way to evaluate if Morse Player works on your device. Its fully functional and contains ads. The paid version has the ads removed.

Antikythera Simulation

The Antikythera Mechanism is a small device constructed in ancient Greece around 150BC and it was mainly used for accurate astronomical measurements.
It's complexity -comparable to that of a 19th century swiss clock- is admired by historians and scientists and it is often called as "mankind's first computer".

"Antikythera Simulation" is an open source, interactive 3D simulation drawn with OpenGLES of the 2 best known models of the Antikythera Mechanism as developed by scientists, and in the same time a showcase of the capabilities of your android powered handset!
These versions are preliminary ones, without much attention to the relative gear diameters or vertical positions. However, the tooth count of the gears and the operation are accurate.

Make yourself familiar with your own history and the astonishing sophistication of this ancient device while pushing your android's Graphics Processing Unit to the edge!
Touch-pan, rotate and pinch zoom in the 3D model and let hardware acceleration do the rest.
