VGZ Medicijnen is een gratis Android toepassing voor iedereen (ook als je níet bij Zorgverzekeraar VGZ verzekerd bent) die wel eens of regelmatig medicijnen in moet nemen. VGZ Medicijnen helpt je bij het op het juiste momenten en een juiste manier innemen van je medicijnen. Het innemen van medicijnen wordt vaak vergeten of uitgesteld. Dit kan gevolgen hebben voor de werking van de medicijnen, en dus voor het genezen of het onder controle houden van de aandoening.

De belangrijkste functie van VGZ Medicijnen is het plannen en registreren van de medicijninname. Je kunt zelf de periode en de tijdstippen van de inname voor een medicijn opgeven, waarna je indien gewenst automatisch herinneringen krijgt om het betreffende medicijn in te nemen. Met VGZ Medicijnen houd je vervolgens eenvoudig deze inname bij. Samen met de wijze waarop je je eigen gezondheid ervaart (op elk willekeurig moment in te geven met of zonder toelichting/notitie) is dit belangrijke informatie voor een gesprek met de zorgverlener om de effectiviteit van een medicijn (of combinatie van medicijnen) te bepalen.

The PulsePoint app empowers users within covered communities to provide life-saving assistance to victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Application users who have indicated they are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can now be notified if someone nearby is having a cardiac emergency and may require CPR. If the cardiac emergency is in a public place, the application, using sophisticated location-based services, will alert citizens in the vicinity of the need for CPR. The application also directs citizen rescuers to the exact location of the closest public access Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

The PulsePoint app (previously called “Firedepartment”) provides a virtual window into select 911 emergency communication centers worldwide. Mobile users now have real-time access to emergency activity as it is occurring.

Users are able to view active incidents–including the current response status of dispatched units and instantly pinpoint incident location on an interactive map. Curious as to where that fire engine or ambulance that just passed is headed? Is there an accident up ahead causing this traffic tie-up? Just tap the application to quickly find the incident location or plan an alternate route. A log of recent incidents and a photo gallery of significant events can also be easily accessed.

Users can choose to be notified of incidents by type when they are dispatched and listen in on live emergency radio traffic via this modern version of the traditional fire scanner.

Don’t live in a covered community? You’ll still find listening to the live action of dispatchers, firefighters and paramedics informative and interesting.

This means that if you have the Med Minder alarm pop-up enabled under settings, the alarm will sound even if the phone is in vibrate mode. If you need Med Minder to be muted, you can either disable the pop-up alarm under settings or manually turn your media volume down with your volume control button. However, I recommend "Mute Widget", a home screen widget that allows one-click muting of all sounds, ringer, notifications, and media.
