LectureNotes is an Android app for note-taking by handwriting on the screen, in particular with a stylus.

It is designed while having a user at university (or at school) in mind, for instance a lecturer who is using it for preparing her/his lecture or even for actual teaching (by writing on the device and projecting the screen content for the audience) or a student who is using it for taking handwritten notes during a lecture. However, it has found many users outside university, for instance businesspersons who use it for business notes and sales presentations or artists who use it to create sketches and drawings.

Its major target devices are tablets with Android 3.0 or later (it is developed on a Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet with an N-trig stylus, a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with an S-pen, and an Asus Nexus 7, a Samsung Nexus 10, and an Amazon Kindle Fire HD with an Adonit Jot Pro and a Wacom Bamboo stylus). The basic functionality should work on all devices with Android 3.0 or later, but some which are hardware-dependent such as pressure sensitivity might not.

NOTE: There is a free trial version to test if the app is right for you. The free trial version is fully functional with the exception that the number of notebooks is constrained to two, with no more than eight pages per notebook.

Possible issue: For certain functionality, the app requires other apps to be installed: Notebook import, notebooks board restore, and image set import require a file manager app to be installed; image import directly from camera requires a camera app to be installed; PDF import requires a file manager app and PDFView to be installed; export to Evernote requires the Evernote app to be installed; audio recording and replay require LectureRecordings to be installed; video recording and replay require LectureVideos to be installed.

AOKPush

Track AOKP builds in the easiest possible way: immediately receive push notifications when a build is complete and ready to download! Also get the available test builds & random fun messages from the team.

AOKPush uses the Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) service provided by Google since Jelly Bean. GCM is integrated into the Android framework, eg. the application does not use any extra battery nor wakes up the device periodically to fetch data.

There are 4 feeds you can subscribe to:
- Milestone feed: official milestone releases by AOKP
- Nightly feed: official (automatic) nightly releases by AOKP
- Test feed: unofficial test releases by AOKP developers
- Fun feed: messages from the Unicorn barn

Messages can be sent automatically by the AOKP build server (milestone / nightly feeds) and manually by individual developers (test / fun feeds).

The device sends data to the AOKPush server on each boot, after application upgrades, and when changing feed subscriptions. Sent data is less than 200 bytes. Received data is usually less than 1 KByte but cannot be more than 4 KBytes.

The server stores only 3 entries about your device:
- registration ID
- device type
- subscribed feeds

The registration ID is a unique ID generated by the GCM framework which identifies your device and allows the server to send you messages. No personal data is stored.

You will receive the notifications even if you do not currently run AOKP. You can install it on currently not AOKP-supported devices, you will get a message once we release a build for that phone/tablet.

You won't receive the messages that have been sent before you installed the app. Everything happens real-time.

Zips can be downloaded directly in the application by clicking on one of the mirrors. In case the download fails, long press the mirror and the zip URL will be copied to your clipboard. Try it in your browser!
