Auto Car Finder (Beta)

Keeps track of your car's position, even when you forget to!

Yes, that's right, you can forget to enter your car's location when you leave your car! If you are anything like me, that's exactly when you need to know where your car is.

Auto Car Finder is a very simple, bare bones app that uses sensor data from the phone to see if you are driving or have parked. It stores the position of where it thinks you last parked and left your car.

Recommended use: If you remember to do so, set your car's parked location with the "Manual Set" button. The app will store this location and tell you where your car is. If you have difficulty remembering to do this (like I do), turn on the monitoring feature. Then, if you forget to press the manual set button when you park, there is a good chance the app will have stored where you parked anyway, to within 20 or less (usually less) meters.

Note: This is a beta version. Also, though I've tried to minimize battery use, there will be some additional drain on your battery (you can have the service sleep at night or during a specific period of the day to help save battery).

Furthermore, the service will not work if you do not have an internet connection or do not have Google Maps, nor will it work if you don't have GPS or an accelerometer. Finally, if you cannot get a reliable GPS signal the service will not work. It also may not work for car trips less than 5 minutes (the service, to conserve battery, only checks whether you are driving every 5 minutes).

This app will not keep track of your car if it is stolen. It merely tries to detect where you have parked and left your car.

One more thing: Some phones require that the screen be fully on for the sensors to work. If your phone is one of these, please select "Change to FULL_WAKE_LOCK" in the menu (the default is for a PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK to conserve battery). The road danger alarm has been designed to encourage you to be prudent and to help you respect the road rules and regulations.
The goal of this application is to strengthen the information about high accident zones and consequently to improve road safety.

This application does not detect the presence and does not disturb the radio or laser
emissions of instruments used to detect infractions of road legislation.

You can add you own danger point with a click on the displayed speed.

Although we do our best to ensure that the danger location database is up to date, we cannot guarantee that our database will have the location of every danger.

Please keep you app up to date as each update contains new danger. Updates are always free.
