Yandex.Maps gives you access to detailed maps of cities and towns across Russia, Turkey and Ukraine right in your pocket.
Find addresses and businesses and plan journeys taking current traffic conditions into account.
The Yandex.Maps mobile app offers the following features:
- detailed maps of towns and cities across Russia, Turkey and Ukraine;
- the ability to search for specific addresses;
- the ability to search nearby points of interest including cafes, drug stores, ATMs, gas stations etc. and additional information on buildings, businesses and other points of interest (not available in Turkey);
- satellite and panoramic street view images of cities;
- People's map (not available in Turkey);
- Yandex.Traffic and real-time traffic alerts;
- a route planner that optimizes routes based on current traffic conditions;
- public transport routes (major Russian cities and Kiev, Ukraine);
- route information (distance, speed, estimated journey time) and automatic route recalculation following any deviation (Russia and Ukraine only);
- additional information about companies and buildings;
- the ability to read and add business reviews;
- the ability to download maps (major Russian, Ukrainian and Belarus cities).

Customers of Kyivstar (Ukraine) will not incur data charges for using Yandex.Maps.

Yandex.Shell

Yandex.Shell is an intuitive interface that makes using Android devices a breeze. It only takes a second to customise the various screens, while the interface automatically sorts your apps and widgets. Simply use the 3D carousel to switch between screens.

You can place all your most frequently used widgets on the same screen to keep up-to-date with all the latest local news, weather and traffic. The built-in app search tool will help you easily find an app on your phone or online.

The Yandex.Shell address book also doubles as a business directory. For example, if you search for “restaurant” the app will show you the address and telephone number of restaurants in the area.

If you receive a missed call from an unknown number, Shell will automatically check the business directory for this number and show you the name in your call history if possible.

Yandex.Shell is available as a free download for users in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkey.

Find out the current temperature, wind speed, pressure and humidity at a glance.
The background color and graphics also change depending on your local weather.
Open the app to get a detailed forecast for the day and an overview of the next nine days. Also the state of water in the background picture will help you assess the situation at a glance. Use the search feature to view the weather in a different town or city, while keeping your location as the default. Your default city can easily be changed in the settings menu.
The desktop widget comes in two sizes, 2x1 and 4x1. Its background also changes depending on the weather, for example, the colder it is outside the more the icon freezes up. If you want to leave your background as it is, select the transparent widget background option. You can change the level of transparency in the settings menu.
