REQUIREMENTS & USAGE
* This app uses WiFi to control your DirecTV receivers!

* Automatic discovery of your DirecTV receivers with ability to add manually.

* DirecTV receivers must be networked (wired or wirelessly) and configured for EXTERNAL DEVICE ACCESS and given a UNIQUE NAME (this is not the default setting on the receivers)!

* Supported models (HD only): H21, H22, H23, H24, HR20, HR21, HR22, HR23 and HR24. Also supports HR34 /HR44 Genie and C31/C41 clients.

EXCLUSIVE Volume plugin for DirecTV Remote+ Pro only from Cognitial Mobile!

** ATTENTION **
This app is a PLUGIN for DirecTV Remote+ Pro from Cognitial Mobile. The DirecTV remote apps themselves require networked DirecTV HD satellite receivers and/or DVRs. See those apps for supported models and be sure to get the other app installed and working before attempting to use this app.

** READ THIS! **
MOST people will be unable to control volume with ANY app. That is just the way it is. See website for a detailed explanation. If you have to ask if this app will work for you then the answer is likely NO.

** CURRENTLY SUPPORTED DEVICES **
* Any network-controllable TV or AVR that can respond to basic HTTP commands or HTTP POST/GET commands (requires manual setup in app)
* ANY device using a Global Cache iTach (Technical warning!)
* ANY device using built-in IR on select Galaxy devices (Technical warning!)
* Panasonic Viera televisions (2011+)
* Philips televisions (2011+)
* Samsung televisions (C series +)
* Sharp Aquos televisions
* Denon or Marantz AVRs (newer models)
* Any Onkyo AVR that can be controlled with OnkyTroller (*requires OnkyTroller to be installed!*)

If you *do* have compatible equipment and find this app useful please rate & review it. Normally I wouldn't say that the more ratings I get the more I will update it, but with a project like this that is pretty much the case. Low interest means little incentive to improve on it.

** REQUIREMENTS **
1) Working installation of DirecTV Remote+ (Free or Pro)* from Cognitial Mobile. If you do not have either app installed, you cannot run this app at all!

2) An SD card (removable or non-removable) must be installed so that this plugin can retrieve your DirecTV Remote app settings.

3) A TV or AVR that is NETWORKED and can BE CONTROLLED over a network. This app currently only supports a small number of devices but more will be added in the future.

* This plugin app will still allow you create and test volume profiles even if only the free version is installed but please note that they only function from the PRO version of the DirecTV Remote+ app.

** This test plugin is in "Open BETA"! **

It should be said that eventually this will be a paid plugin that will also require DirecTV Remote+ Pro in order to work. There will always be a free version for people to test with, but eventually only the paid version will work from the DirecTV Remote+ Pro app. Until then, DirecTV Remote+ PRO users can use this plugin from the main remote app itself! DirecTV Remote+ FREE users will be able to see volume & mute buttons in the remote app but they will not function. See website for more details on how the open beta will work.

AGAIN: MOST people will not be able to control volume from any app due to technological limitations of their TV or AVR. This is not my fault and there is nothing I can do about it. People who can use an app to control volume probably already know this. If you are not sure, then you probably cannot.

** ATTENTION **
This app is an ADD-ON for DirecTV Remote+ Pro from Cognitial Mobile. The DirecTV remote apps themselves require networked DirecTV HD satellite receivers and/or DVRs. See those apps for supported models and be sure to get the other app installed and working before attempting to use this app.

You cannot "open" this app after installation. It is used to create shortcuts to remote buttons, favorites, macros and even a direct link to the Mini-Guide on your home screen.

While this add-on will allow you to create shortcuts with only the free version of DirecTV Remote installed, please note that they will not function. This allows you to somewhat test the feature before purchasing the Pro version.

** USAGE **
Note: You cannot "open" this app. You create shortcuts with it!

1) Long-press on your home screen and choose the option to add a SHORTCUT (though NOT a normal 'application' shortcut). This step may vary by device. Some devices require more steps, others are worded differently such as 'Long-press > Shortcut' or 'Long-press > Shortcuts > App Actions', etc. Some newer Android devices may even have it listed under Widgets. (Press in the upper-right corner of newer Android versions/tablets, select the Widgets tab, then find the Shortcut Add-on widget and add it to your home screen then press the widget to configure the shortcut).

2) Choose DirecTV Remote Command from the list of available shortcuts

3) Choose what type of DirecTV remote shortcut to create (Remote Button, Favorite Channel, Macro or Mini-Guide)

4) Choose your options then press Create

5) You can now send that button, channel or macro to the receiver right from your home screen. No need to even open the DirecTV Remote app!

** ALTERNATE USAGE **
This add-on app can also be used in conjunction with other apps such as Tasker (using a shortcut plugin) to automate repetitive tasks!

** IMPORTANT **
If you decide to specify the destination receiver for the shortcut (as opposed to 'whichever was used last') then it is strongly recommended that you use static IP addresses or DHCP Reservation. Since you are allowed to change receiver names in the Pro version, specified destinations are based on the receiver's IP address, not its name. The support site has more information on how to set your receivers to do this. If the receivers are not using static or reserved addresses then the shortcuts with specified receivers will need to be recreated if the IP address changes.

** SUPPORTED SHORTCUTS **
* All actual DirecTV Remote buttons that are supported in the app (except Slow Motion).

* All of your favorite channels and macros (including the built-in CC On/Off macros).

* Mini-Guide (launches the mini-guide without opening the full app).

* "Reboot" command (found under Remote Buttons). Reboot any receiver with one press of a shortcut.

** SHORTCUT ICONS **
Custom images can be used for the shortcuts that this add-on creates. See website FAQ for more information.
