The idea is that by recording one's progress, the user is more likely to be motivated to continue.  This is especially true for those who like to maintain an unbroken chain.  Hence Jerry Seinfeld's quote &amp;quot;don't break the chain.&amp;quot;  An application widget may optionally be added to the user's Home screen&lt;br&gt;to quickly summarize progress.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Habits are add from the options menu, and long-pressing the habit name creates a context menu from which the user may adjust the mark corresponding to that particular habit.  Marks are made on the calendar by tapping the desired day.&lt;br&gt;The view always starts with the current month, but adjacent months may be selected by sliding up or down.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Habits may be tracked by either the presence or absence of a mark.  The number of consecutive days is automatically calculated based on the presence or absence of a mark on yesterday's day.  If a mark is present, then the number of days indicates the number of consecutive days with marks.
