Why Programmable Noise Isolation?
Etymotic headsets offer the highest noise isolation, blocking up to 98% of ambient noise. There will be times when you want or need to be aware of your surroundings. Don't get lost in your music, Be Aware!

How does Awareness!® work?
It listens to the outside world using your headset microphone. The patented 'Real-Time Audio Engine' brings outside sounds almost instantly to your ear. You control how much outside sound you hear over your music, without removing your headset and can choose between automatic and manual setting.

FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES

Awareness!® is multi-tasking and works in the background while you enjoy your music.

Alert: Flashes to warn you of app alerts. One touch brings up the current active alert and one touch dismisses it.

AutoSet: When activated in Settings, AutoSet measures the noise around you and sets the level at which the microphone switches on, so you hear anything louder than background noise. If you want to reset levels, touch the AutoSet logo on the main screen.

Active Interrupt: Mutes your music when the microphone is triggered and turns it back up, when outside noise drops to normal levels. We STRONGLY recommend that this is used in noisy environments.

Meter: The meter needle shows the level of sound around you.

Meter Threshold Slider: The curved blue bar sets the level at which the microphone will switch on. AutoSet does this automatically, or you can set your preferred level by touching and sliding the end of the bar in either direction. A reference dB indicator appears above the meter.

Mic On/Off: Switches the headset microphone on instantly. Hear what’s going on around you without having to remove your headset.

Microphone Delay Slider in Settings – Sets a delay before the microphone switches on. Use if wind and fabric rub trigger the microphone unnecessarily.

Microphone Delay Display: A small numerical display at the bottom right of the meter, shows the amount of delay set. ALSO found above the Microphone Delay Slider.

Microphone Level Adjust Slider: Allows you to set the microphone signal to a comfortable level. If you have to have this set too high, your music may be too loud. Take care of your ears!

Power: Turns the app on/off but keeps it ready to go at a moment's notice. The main display dims to denote 'off' and one touch will restart Awareness!® immediately.

Settings: Has controls for Mic Delay, Active Interrupt and AutoSet, plus App version number, URLs & FAQs about Awareness!® and video showing how to insert your Etymotic earphones.

Etymotic Account.
Bluetooth not supported at this time.

The patented Essency 'Real-Time Audio Engine' brings sounds from the microphone to your ear, as fast as is technically possible on Android. You can control how much outside sound you hear over your music or movies, without removing your headset and can choose between automatic and manual settings.

FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES

Awareness!® is fully multi-tasking and works in the background while you enjoy your music.

Alert – Flashes to warn of application alerts. One touch brings up the current active alert.

AutoSet - On start up, the app measures the noise around you and then sets the level at which the Nexus 7 microphone switches on, so you hear anything that is louder than the usual background noise. If you change location or want to reset levels, touch the Alert Button at any time for another AutoSet.

Ducking - Smoothly lowers music when the microphone is triggered and turns it back up when outside noise drops to normal levels. (For Google Music Player only) In other music apps / games / movie player etc., the incoming audio is brought up over the music / soundtrack.

Help – bring up an info screen with App version number, Support, URLs & FAQs, plus access to a video showing how to properly insert your Etymotic earphones for best sound.

Level Meter – Shows the level of ambient sound around you from 0% to 100%.

Awareness! cannot work if your tablet is in a bag or pocket.
