Have you ever wondered how to explain to someone where you are right now in the city? With the 'Send my location' app you can easily send a link to a map of your current location to a friend via text message or email. Anyone with internet-enabled phone can receive the map. A feature-phone with a mobile browser will also work as well as any type of smartphone. You can also just email the link with your position to anyone with Internet access or share it with social networks and messaging services like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp or Skype.

Imagine the following situation:
I am dining with friends in a new restaurant. Another friend calls and asks me to explain where I am, so he can join us. Instead of trying to explain the location of the restaurant I just take my phone, start the app and wait for it to find my position on the map. I tap on the map to put a flag on the exact location of the restaurant and send the link containing its GPS coordinates to my friend's mobile phone as text message. My friend receives the message and clicks on the link inside. A map of my location opens inside Google Maps (if he has a smartphone) or inside his mobile browser (if he has a feature-phone).

The goblet drum (also chalice drum, darbuka, debuka, Kratom, doumbek, dumbec, or tablah) is a single head membranophone with a goblet shaped body used mostly in the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe. The African djembe-wassolou is also a goblet membranophone. This app lets you play with a small North-African darbuka drum. Hitting the drum on your phone touchscreen with your fingers will make exactly the same sounds as the real goblet drum. This hand drum has a thin drumhead, which helps to produce a distinctively crisp sound, and a chalice cavity that helps to obtain a bass resonance. Traditionally, goblet drums may be made of pottery, wood, or metal. The darbuka this app is based on is made of pottery. The bottom is open, and the goat skin drum head is directly attached with glue and threads.
The origin of the term darabukka probably lies in the Arabic word darba ('to strike'). The original use of goblet drums in Babylonia and Sumeria dates from as early as 1100 BCE. The Eastern and North-African goblet drums are played under the arm or resting on the player's leg, with a much lighter touch and quite different strokes (sometimes including rolls or quick rhythms articulated with the fingertips) than hand drums such as the djembe, found in West Africa. There are a variety of dumbek rhythms that form the basis of the folkloric and modern music and dance styles of the Middle East.

The original designation for the discipline is Kan Yu - literally: Tao of heaven and earth. Historically, feng shui was widely used to orient buildings—often spiritually significant structures such as tombs, but also dwellings and other structures in an auspicious manner.

Using this app as a compass, you can find out in which direction you should be sleeping according to this ancient Chinese philosophy.

Enter your birth date and gender and use your phone like a compass to find the best orientation of your bed. Place the phone on a flat surface (i.e. the bed) and rotate it so that the head of the human symbol shown on the screen is in the same direction you sleep.

The best direction to sleep in(east, north, shouth-west, etc.) will be indicated on the screen in green. The yellow directions are also good. Try not to sleep in the directions shown in red.

This app is good to have if you travel a lot, because it lets you find the direction you should sleep on your hotel bed to feel more relaxed.

If your phone does not show the right directions you might have to calibrate its compass by waving the phone several times in a 8-shape figure in the air.
