• Sort in one tap
Files land in Downloads/Sorted Files, in a folder for each category — or all in one place, if you prefer. An optional preview shows exactly what will move, before it moves.

Automatic sorting runs in the background — every 15 minutes, hourly, every 6 hours or once a day, and a notification afterwards tells you what moved.

Send anything matching an extension or keyword to a folder you name. Your rules run first; the built-in categories handle the rest.

Moved something you didn't mean to? Put it back. Undo of your most recent sort is free; Pro undoes any past sort from the history.

• Find duplicate copies
Compares files by contents, not by name or size. The copies you pick go to a trash you can restore from for 7 days, and one copy of every file is always kept. Needs Android 11 or newer.

🛡️ HOW YOUR FILES ARE HANDLED

Every move copies the file, verifies the copy, and only then removes the original — an interruption leaves you with a copy, never with nothing. A file whose name is already taken is renamed, never overwritten; a file still downloading is left alone until it finishes.

🔔 AN HONEST NOTE ABOUT BACKGROUND WORK

Some phones restrict background apps to save battery, which can delay or stop automatic sorting. When it does, Adinand says so on its home screen instead of quietly doing nothing — and one tap still sorts everything.

🔑 A NOTE ON PERMISSIONS

Adinand Auto File Sorter works as a file management tool. It requires "All Files Access" (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) to scan the folders you choose to watch — your Downloads folder, and optionally others such as WhatsApp Documents, Telegram, Bluetooth and Screenshots — and to move files from them into categorized sub-folders. On Android 11+, the Storage Access Framework cannot reach the root Downloads folder at all, and the MediaStore API covers only photos, video and audio — so this permission is the only way to manage the full range of file types you download. You choose which folders are watched, and you can change that at any time. It is used for nothing else.
