The minimalist in nature layout of what the home screen becomes and then maximalist nature of having all the things on the home screen be widgets sounds like it wouldn't work, but somehow it takes the best of everything and makes it tower above alternatives. The minimalist launchers always seemed to not have enough info for me and the typical icons on the home screen mixed with widgets while familiar just seems slow and uninformative to me now.
