This is the best Koi-Koi app I've found on Android so far. It runs smoothly for the most part, none of the ads are intrusive, and the help menus are helpful—although the game should make a note of the two "automatic win" scenarios, so players know to expect them. The app also occasionally glitches; it sometimes fails to allow the player to play a card (but will still allow the player to exit the game), and it sometimes allows the player to take more than one turn at a time if the player can claim a hiki but doesn't do so right away. In the latter scenario, the player can play through the hand but won't earn any points. If the above problems were fixed, I could easily give this app five stars.

I'm thrilled to find such a wonderful app to play Hanafuda Koi-Koi, free and with no ads either! There are options for gameplay and an easily accessible list of cards and yakus right on the game screen. I play first the majority of the time, so I assume the "rigged start" that some reviews complain of has been fixed.

I've been looking for an app to play koi and this looks great and the variety of rules you can toggle is awesome. I just played a round and got 3 blue ribbons and 2 reds, but it only gave me points for blue ribbons, even though it was also a Tanaka. The match 3, get the 3 rule needs to be optional, and add tsukifuda rule. And that koi kois that lead to ties still give out the points.

Terrible. The game will ALWAYS favor the opponent by giving it more advantageous hands, and I know this is happening because no other hanafuda game I've ever played, whether on my phone or face-to-face, has ever gone 50-to-0! The aesthetics are also terrible; none of the actual names of the hands are used and none of the cards are labeled to help you learn what's called what.

I used to love this app before the recent update, but now it's kind of, well, awful. Although I like being able to choose between classic and modern card styles, the rest of the graphics look kind of soulless, and the animation is way too fast -- you can barely tell what the AI picks up on its turns. What used to be a charming little app is now quite ugly and no longer relaxing to play. 😣

The AI very clearly gets favored deals. More importantly, the game refuses to recognize Ino-Shika-Cho. Also, it uses a score-up rather than Score-down system, which I'm not a fan of. Probably the only thing I do like is that it DOES give you the option of 12 rounds, unlike every other app that only does 6.
