Alhouda

Alhouda (الهدى — "The Guidance") gives you access to the complete Quran with support for multiple recitation traditions. The app features a growing library of reciters in Hafs, Warsh, Qaloon, and additional Rewayas, with new content added regularly.
Whether you are looking for a specific reciter in the Hafs tradition, exploring North African Warsh recitations, or following the Qaloon transmission, Alhouda brings these traditions together in one place. The library continues to expand to cover more reciters and more Rewayas over time.
Stream any Surah instantly or download it for offline listening. A single tap starts playback; a long press lets you download. If you want every Surah from a particular reciter and Rewaya combination, the bulk download option fetches all 114 Surahs at once so you can listen without an internet connection.
The audio player runs in the background, so you can continue listening while using other apps, with full controls on your lock screen and in the notification shade. If you close the app mid-recitation, Alhouda remembers where you stopped and offers to resume from that point the next time you open it.
Browse reciters by name, filter them by country or by Rewaya, and mark your favourites for quick access. The Favourites screen keeps your preferred reciters and individual recitations in one place, with search and bulk-edit options to keep things organized.
The home screen highlights trending recitations and trending reciters based on what the community is listening to, helping you discover new voices and traditions you may not have encountered before.
Alhouda supports 10 languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Russian, Turkish, Farsi, and Chinese. The interface adapts for right-to-left languages, and reciter names are displayed in your chosen language where translations are available. Surah names, Rewaya names, and country names are all localized.
Your data stays on your device. Alhouda uses anonymous authentication only — no account creation, no email, no personal data collection. Downloads are stored locally and your favourites are saved on your phone.
The app uses a warm, clean design with a choice of Light, Dark, or System-following theme. Typography is set in Poppins for comfortable reading across all supported languages.
Alhouda is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. We ask only that you benefit from it and remember the team in your prayers.
