Description by dymn.io(from Google Play)
Packing is not a memory problem. It is arithmetic with a weather forecast attached.
Five days in Miami is four nights, one long flight, and rain on three of them.
All I Need starts there and builds your packing list from the trip you actually booked.
IT KNOWS HOW MANY
Every item carries a base rate, a spare and a ceiling. Underwear is one a day plus a spare. Trousers are one for every three days. Twenty one days does not ask for twenty one shirts, because the ceiling knows you will find a washing machine.
Set a rule once and it holds for every trip after it. Type a number by hand and the app leaves it alone, because a typed number is a decision, not a default.
IT READS THE FORECAST
Take an umbrella. It will be hot. The sun is fierce. Snow is forecast. You will need an adapter. A long flight. You will wash something.
Twelve rules. Eight read the forecast for where you are going, four read the trip itself: the plug, the border, the length of the flight, the day you will run out of clean shirts. At most five reach you. Each appears once, each can be dismissed, and none appears at all if a list you already chose has it covered.
IT SAYS NOTHING ELSE
No streaks. No badges. Nothing that pings you to keep a habit alive. The list is the product. When there is nothing useful to say, the app is quiet.
WHAT IS IN IT
Twelve packing lists to start from, Essentials to Formal to Beach to Family. Every one editable down to the last item, every one resettable when you have edited it into a corner, and every one a checklist you tick off as the bag fills. Mark the ones you take on every trip and they arrive already selected.
Hotels, flights, transport, contacts and notes, in the same place as the bag.
A home screen widget with the countdown, how far through you are, and the next things still to pack. It follows whichever trip is soonest, or you can long press it and pin it to one by name. Put two on the screen and they can follow two different trips.
For the two days before you leave, a quiet countdown sits in the notification shade with what is left to pack. It goes when the bag is done.
A reminder two days before you leave and one on the morning itself, both of which you can turn off, and neither of which arrives for a bag you have finished packing.
Works with TalkBack, down to reordering a list without a drag, and type that scales without breaking.
NOTHING IS COLLECTED
There is no account to make and no server of ours. Nothing to sign up for, which means nothing to delete later.
The app does not ask where you are. You tell it where you are going. Everything works offline except the forecast, and the last one fetched is shown with the time it arrived.
If you turn sync on, your trips travel between your own Android devices through a private folder inside your own Google Drive. No other app can read it, and it is the one thing that ever leaves the phone. It goes to your Drive, never to us. It is off until you switch it on, and switching it off again leaves everything where it is.
FREE, AND ONE PAYMENT
Free covers your first trip, with all twelve packing lists, every editing tool, the forecast, the advice and the widget.
Every trip after that comes with Pro: unlimited trips, your own lists, three templates and sync. One payment, no subscription.
All I Need is a dymn app. dymn makes tools for the things people do often enough that the friction adds up. Bought once, no accounts, nothing collected. dymn.io
