Comments on Amaze File Manager for Android
★★★★★
I like the interface. It's fast and efficient and the SMB link to my desktop works well. 2 bugs prevent top rating: file share function from other apps to SMB linked folder via Amaze doesn't work, fails silently; and search function in text files doesn't bring the found text location onto the visible screen accurately.
★★★★★
I use it as my main file manager for device and network file access. Simple and quick UI, good SMB network drive access. There are a few bugs, like it won't handle a network file copy initiated from G Photos via Share, but those are minor.
★★★★★
Why on earth is it impossible to open a photo/picture and swipe left or right to go the next one?... If I open a photo on the SD card, using any photo app, NONE of them can move to the next photo with swipe. - Update: I chatted with the devs, and it seems it’s an issue with how Android handles files. I found an app, Google gallery I think, and it can open photos on the SD card and swipe to next. But you still can’t open photos from Amaze file manager with that app and then use swipe.
★★☆☆☆
The app advertises having multiple tabs, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to increase the number of tabs beyond the default 2.
★★☆☆☆
Not a bad UI, but this app has had a bug since I started using it, in which most of the time it fails to be able to rename files, always reporting "the operation could not be completed." This isn't a problem with other file manager apps I've used.
★★☆☆☆
Recently, this app decided to try to insert itself between me clicking on attachments in Gmail with a pop-up wanting me to use its new features. When I click cancel though, it doesn't go back to doing what it should do in Gmail which is opening the attachment. It continues to insert the pop-up, demanding that I use amaze, and it's new features instead. This is the fastest way possible to get me to uninstall your intrusive app. This pop-up interferes with My productivity, so the app is gone. Bye.
★★☆☆☆
Should support Windows Network File System- NFS from Windows shared folders !
