The app cannot be updated if I uninstalled it

I cannot uninstall this app, and it sends me unwanted notifications daily, which my phone won't allow me to stop. I am so frustrated with this app that I actively avoid using Amazon because of it.

Amazon widget is an unremovable infection of my unlocked cellphone. It cannot be removed or uninstalled. An Uninstallation button appeared once & I pressed it, so now it doesn't appear. Argh!!! It should be illegal for Amazon and carriers to install unremovable software on cellphones, particularly unlocked cellphones that are purchased outright. I can't remove via my cellphone's Settings or Google Play. This is a zero (0) out of 5.

It would not let me turn off notifications. It was draining my battery. I don't use Amazon with any phone.
