Amethyst

★★★★★ Amethyst is my "go-to" client for nos tr and the client I'm first to recommend to others. Nevertheless, I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars yet. I've frequently tried to inform the developer of a very frustrating issue that affects me and others who may not have the very latest phone... The app slows/freezes when I access any popular profile. I believe it fails because it's slowly fetching all that user's notes in the foreground rather than only a few at a time or with a background task.

★★★★★ Just downloaded, and only spent 5 minutes, which is all the time I have for now. Two things: my feed is empty (obviously), but there's no clear way to enter someone's npub. And I could follow myself (does that even make sense?), but cannot unfollow. EDIT: Figured out how to add, although it would be nice with a dedicated button on the feed page. Also was able to unfollow myself after having added others. Now I just need to figure out how to change my name and avatar, which is also not clear

★★☆☆☆ Way too much pornographic content. The default Amethyst & Nos tr conversations you have when your first download are crammed with Bitcoin spam and porn. I found out you can leave those, and I tried to remove anything else I could. Even still the Video feed section and the sideways Wi-Fi icon section with the marketplace and live (if set to global) just shows more random porn. This is not what I wanted and there's apparently no way to delete/leave all that stuff. Maybe don't include those by default?

★★☆☆☆ When manually! Typing in all letters of a nos tr npubxxxxxxx address public key or what this address is actually called, this amethyst app frequently crashes when kind of live substring matching or subset search is being filtered and executed on the backend data store and structures i kind of figure. Only when rather quickly advancing beyond the first few many characters it went on to accepta full npub adress all typed in manually. Tested with jacks address: npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swj...

★★☆☆☆ Has changed to allow editing of notes and forking notes by other people. This ruins NO STR. I will not support this developer anymore. I don't want people censoring my voice by editing my notes.

★★☆☆☆ It is a fine client, don't get me wrong. Unfortunately I use NIP-26 delegated event signing and the Minds relay nodes do not load properly, but they do on another client. Please get that working and then five stars.
